Obama Approves More Scholarships for Mothers - Find Out How to Apply!

Many people are not aware of the scholarship and grant opportunities that are currently available to mothers thanks to action by President Obama. There are many opportunities for free college money that anyone can take advantage of, especially young mothers.

Some of the opportunities that president Obama has put into affect are the increase of Federal Pell Grants and new Federal Tax Credits. These new opportunities make now a great time to go back to school and finish your education.

Obama actually increased the maximum grant allowance from just above $4,000 to $5,100. In order to take advantage of this, you will need to be enrolled in the college of your choice and then you will need to fill out and submit a FAFSA form. Tax credits that have been put into effect include The American Opportunity Tax Credit. This program ensures that the first $4,000 of your educational expenses or up to $2,500 annually is free. This credit is available mostly to lower income students but it is wise to check if you are eligible for this money saving program.

Also, available are grants for students who wish to pursue their education through online study. There are grants for online study that will actually cover more of your educational expenses then the popular Federal Pell Grants. This is good news as many mothers choose to study online as opposed to the traditional class room setting. Online study allows flexibility and the ability to be able to stay home with your children.
