What you need to know about Pell Grants!

Pell Grants easy financial aid

So many college undergraduate students can receive financial aid grants like the pell grant. Which is a government grant of financial aid award once per semester to undergraduate students who qualify. The problem with Pell Grants is that many students don't even realize that they qualify so they never apply. To apply for a Pell Grant just simply fill out a FAFSA. This needs to be done with the help of a parent because you need their tax information. Unless you are independent and if you are you have about a 95% chance of receiving a pell grant!

About the Pell Grant

An important goal is if you are eligible for pell grant you need to get an additional scholarship. The reason being is that if you can get a scholarship to pay your tuition then all the money from your Pell will get refunded directly to you in a check. That means a little over 5,200 dollars for the school year is yours to do as you please. Also there may be attitional grants that you can apply for besides the pell grant. Don't make the mistake of thinking if you get a pell grant you can't receive any other financial aid. This grant can be combined with other grants, scholarships and even student loans. Because the goal here is to pay for college so you just may have to combine multiple sources of financial aid to do that.

Fafsa First

On a final note the first thing that you should do when searching for financial aid is fill out a FAFSA. However do not get discouraged if you don't qualify for a grant. The reason being is because you can still qualify for plenty of scholarships. What usually happens with people looking for financial aid is that they apply for a pell grant and don't qualify and then they just completely end their financial aid search. There are many solutions to finding financial aid and some of them don't come easy. I have never qualifed for a grant but I have gone to both undergraduate and graduate school 100% free!Good luck!
